Industrial Equipment & Parts Supply

Steel Square sources industrial equipment, replacement components and hard-to-find parts through a broad supplier network. Parts can be handled as a standalone need or as part of a repair, retrofit, integration or maintenance project.

What we see

Obsolete Parts & Long Lead Times

  • Hard-to-find or obsolete parts
  • Long lead times on components
  • Equipment waiting on a replacement part

Sourcing for Equipment Already Installed

Parts supply is the work of finding components for machines that are already in service, including machines whose original supplier has moved on, renumbered the part or stopped making it. It also covers sourcing replacement equipment when repair is no longer the right answer.

The skill is rarely in the ordering. It is in identifying what the part actually is when the plate is unreadable, the drawing is missing and the only reference is the one in the machine.

Equipment & Components

Steel Square sources standalone industrial equipment, conveyors, wrappers, pallet-handling equipment, rollers, bearings, pneumatic components, cable carriers and other plant hardware. A direct equipment need can also continue into installation or integration when the customer needs more than supply.

Lead Time Is the Real Exposure

Price is what gets asked about. Lead time is what actually hurts.

A component with a sixteen-week lead time, on a machine with no spare, is a sixteen-week exposure that exists whether or not anyone has priced it. The facilities that feel this hardest are the ones running well-built older equipment that has outlived its supply chain, where the machine has years left and the part does not.

The options when that part fails are a substitute, a repair of the original, a fabricated equivalent, or a retrofit of the subsystem it belongs to. Which one is right depends on how long the machine has left and how many more times the part will be needed.

Sourcing as Part of the Fix

A part request can be the beginning of a larger problem-solving conversation. If the component is obsolete, repeatedly failing or difficult to replace, Steel Square can also look at modernization, controls, mechanical modification or replacement options around the system.

A part that has failed three times is not a supply question.

Pallets

Steel Square can supply wood and plastic pallets. Plastic pallets generally hold up better where repeated handling and wear are the primary concern. Pallet supply can remain a simple standalone order or connect into pallet handling and material-flow work.
